Lootboxes disappear from Rocket League December 4

The release of the big update for football on radio-controlled cars Rocket League will be held on December 4. The developer Psyonix announced back in August that the company was going to get rid of lootboxes in the usual sense. They are becoming illegal in a growing list of countries …

To a certain extent, the Rocket League ideologically resembles the numerous games of the TrackMania series: lightning fast gameplay, the presence of self-expression tools that do not affect any element of the gameplay, as well as strict requirements for the skill of the player and his team. All of the above has one goal – to create a virtual environment that maximizes sports excitement. In five-minute matches filled with adrenaline, the Rocket League makes itself felt as an e-sports discipline that forces you to press the button to search for a game again and again.

Despite the obvious focus of the game on serious e-sports competitions, the Rocket League is a game dedicated primarily to entertainment. It is difficult to argue about this when you are on a hot rod, with a blazing flame from all the turbines, knocking down an opponent and scoring a winning goal in the last seconds of the match. This is the excitement of RL: basic football mechanics are combined with the ability to ram and destroy almost all the players of the opposite team, and then, after driving through the ceiling of the stadium, drive the ball into the enemy gates.
