Random Lootboxes will be removed from the Rocket League by the end of the year

The authors of the Rocket League announced major changes to the work of lootboxes – by the end of the year, Psyonix will remove boxes with random contents, replacing them with a new system similar to that implemented several months ago in Fortnite.

Apparently, before buying containers, the player will see a list of what he can get, and even with protection against duplicates. The developers of the project report that the combat pass, vehicles in the DLC and items from the eSports store will remain untouched.

In their appeal to Rocket League fans, the Psyonix team noted that it, like its owner Epic Games, aims to create the most vivid, best and positive impressions of its products for players around the world. Changing the work of lootboxes is the way to this.

For real money in the Rocket League, if anything, you can only purchase cosmetic items that do not affect the gameplay and balance.
